This talk will present our Content Technology team’s workflow for rendering statistical, 3D visualizations in real time. We will demonstrate our cutting-edge recipes for content generation, using the Unreal game engine, data-serving web applications, automated clipping tools, and XR user interactivity. Join us for a walkthrough of our journey from the Emmy® winning K-Zone 3D and Hit Track visualizations to the VR and MR Batting Cage experiences we developed for ESPN over the last few years.
Software Engineer – Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International
Eliza is a software engineer with the Content Technology team in The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer & International (DTCI) division. She graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, with Honors in Computer Science for her thesis research in the field of educational virtual reality systems. Over the course of her time at ESPN and Disney DTCI, Eliza’s enthusiasm for the synergistic fields of computer vision, computer graphics, and data visualization has found an outlet in virtual storytelling. Building user-friendly web applications for data handling and programming interactive, visual experiences with game engines allows Eliza to explore solutions to both the creative and technical challenges of real-time content creation.
